Delta Air Lines has ordered another 30 Airbus A321neo aircraft, adding to the 125 it already has on order from the European manufacturer.
The A321neos will be powered by Pratt & Whitney PW1100G turbofan engines, with a three-class configuration seating 194 passengers, Airbus said in a statement on August 24, 2021.
The US carrier is due to receive the first of its A321neo aircraft in early 2022.
The narrow-body aircraft will be used mostly on Delta’s domestic network. Many will come from the Airbus manufacturing facility in Mobile, Alabama
“As the industry looks to emerge from the pandemic, Delta is showing responsible leadership and casting a strong vote of confidence now in the A321neo,” stated Christian Scherer, chief commercial officer and head of Airbus International.
