Brazilian aircraft manufacturer Embraer signed a deal valued at $1.2 billion with the private jet charter NetJets to deliver an additional 100 Embraer Phenom 300 aircraft.

The deliveries of new aircraft are expected to begin in the second quarter of 2023, according to Embraer. The deal also includes a comprehensive services agreement.

“We are pleased to have signed this significant deal with NetJets, as our strategic partnership has been an integral part of Embraer’s success for over a decade,” President and CEO of Embraer Executive Jets, Michael Amalfitano announced in a statement.

The American private jet charter first signed a purchase agreement with Embraer in 2010. The purchase deal included 50 Phenom 300 aircraft, plus up to 75 options.

“For years, the Embraer Phenom 300 has been an integral part of the NetJets fleet,” said Doug Henneberry, Executive Vice President of Aircraft Asset Management at NetJets.

Currently, NetJets operates more than 760 private jets, according to NetJets official website. The airline’s fleet comprises six aircraft types, including Embraer Phenom 300s, Cessna Citation Latitudes, Cessna Citation XLS, Bombardier Challenger 350s, Bombardier Global 600s, and Dassault Falcon 2000EX aircraft.

The business jet operator had signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Aerion to acquire 20 of their AS2 supersonic business jets, before the latter ceased operations in May 2021.
