Iranian and Russian officials signed a cooperation agreement regarding the delivery of Iranian-made aircraft parts to Russia, Iranian media reports.
According to Mehr news agency, the agreement was signed at the same time as a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to increase the frequency of flights between the two countries.
The agreement would also allow Iranian companies to perform repair, maintenance and technical support on Russian aircraft, the report states.
No further details have been disclosed as to which aircraft parts will be supplied, or what kind of aircraft are going to be serviced by the Iranian companies.
Iran has been under Western sanctions for decades, maintaining and supplementing its fleets of both civil and military aircraft without support from manufacturers.
Russia found itself a subject of similar sanctions after commencing its full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022.
