Airbus Helicopters has delivered an ACH160 to a customer in Brazil. It will be the first rotorcraft of the type to operate in Latin America.

The news was confirmed by Airbus in a statement released on August 9, 2022. According to the manufacturer, the H160, the latest Airbus rotorcraft, provides 20% greater volume per passenger compared to previous generation medium twin helicopters. It also offers 35% larger windows than its competitors, resulting in the brightest cabin in its category.

Airbus also claimed that the newcomer rotorcraft burns around 15% less fuel than its competitors.

“We are very proud that the world’s first ACH160 has been delivered here in Brazil and look forward to seeing its distinctive and elegant silhouette flying through the skies of Sao Paulo,” said Jean-Luc Alfonsi, managing director of Airbus Helicopters’ Brazilian customer center, Helibras.

“The ACH160 will set new standards for customers and operators wanting to make a distinctive choice in terms of safety, comfort, and performance,” Alfonsi added. “The growing general aviation market in Brazil is crucial for increasing economic and social productivity, as well for maintaining the country’s air connectivity.”

Capable of seating up to 10 passengers for a journey up to 852 kilometers, the ACH160 helicopter can be customized in three cabin versions to provide an exclusive passenger experience. The rotorcraft features sound-reducing Blue Edge rotor blades for quieter operations as well as enhanced safety technologies.
