Qatar Airways to resume direct services from Doha to Malta from July 2025

Qatar Airways has announced the resumption of flights between its home base of Doha-Hamad International Airport (DOH) and Malta International Airport (MLA) serving the islands of Malta and Gozo in the Mediterranean Sea. The new services are due to commence on July 2, 2025, operating on a four-times-weekly frequency. The addition of Malta flights brings the Gulf carrier’s European network to 50 destinations for the northern summer of 2025.

The newly resumed service will see flights depart Doha on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. On Wednesdays and Fridays, flight QR381 will depart Doha at 14:05 local time, arriving at 06:45 the following day. On Mondays and Saturdays, flight QR383 will depart Doha at 08:45 with an arrival time of 13:25 the same day.

The return leg will see flights depart Malta as QR382 at 10:15 on Wednesdays and Fridays arriving back in Doha at 16:20. On Mondays and Saturdays, QR 384 departs Malta at 17:05 and arrives in Doha at 23:10. The route has a sector length of 2,314 miles (3,702 km). Bookings for the new services are already open.

According to a Qatar Airways statement, “Customers from China, India, Japan, and the Philippines who are seeking the deep blue waters of the Mediterranean. Passengers can plan their summer holidays with Qatar Airways to travel through Hamad International Airport, the World’s Best Airport as voted by Skytrax in 2024, to Malta International Airport and visit the capital of Valletta, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and Gozo and Comino, the sister islands of Malta.”

“Similarly, travelers from Malta can benefit from Qatar Airways’ extensive network of more than 170 global destinations, including Australia, where it currently operates 42 weekly flights. Qatar Airways’ proposed partnership with Virgin Australia, pending final regulatory approval, also boosts connectivity.”
