The CEO of Qatar Airways, Badr Mohammed al-Meer, has officially opened the airline’s annual safety and security awareness event.

The three-day event runs from January 12, through to January 14, 2025, aims to reinforce the culture of safety across all the Qatar Airways Group’s business operations.

According to Gulf Times, this year the event’s theme is ‘It Begins With You and Continues With Me’ and is supported by all Qatar Airways Group’s subsidiaries.

These include Qatar Aviation Services, Qatar Aircraft Catering Company, Qatar Duty Free, Discover Qatar, Hamad International Airport (DOH), and Oryx International School.

“Collaboration remains the most important approach to advancing sustainable safety and security. Today’s partnership approach underscores our country’s shared vision and dedication to achieving a common goal of offering a safe and secure air transport network,” said Badr Mohammed al-Meer.

As in previous years, activities over the three days include staff quizzes, live demos, recognition awards, panel discussions, exhibitions, games, team contests and competitions.

“When it comes to safety and security at Qatar Airways Group, we continually explore new and innovative ways to deliver and meet objectives. I am proud of the collaboration that has taken place between our divisions, subsidiaries and companies, and our external partners to produce an exceptionally successful event for all Qatar Airways Group employees,” said Qatar Airways Group Chief Risk Officer, Ashish Jain.

Gulf Times reported that some of the exhibition booth highlights include presence from the General Directorate of Civil Defense, General Directorate of Drug Enforcement and General Directorate of Traffic.
