Transavia, a wholly owned subsidiary of Air France–KLM group, is set to receive a new Airbus A321neo in retro livery during the summer of 2025.

On January 7, 2025, the airline announced that the new aircraft represents a “special milestone” in its history, coinciding with the 60th anniversary of it starting operations, which is due to be celebrated on October 21, 2025.

“The arrival of a new Airbus in retro livery is our way of looking back with pride on what has brought us and where we are now,” said Marcel de Nooijer, CEO of Transavia. “While at the same time looking ahead to a quieter future thanks to our fleet renewal.”

The design features retro branding by Dutch designer Thijs Postma, creator of the green color design and large black ‘T’ on the new aircraft’s body and tail. The new Transavia’s branding style will be featured on the new Airbus A321neo.

According to the airline, this branding has become quite popular among employees, passengers and business partners. The aircraft will also include the modern interior of the latest Airbus models.

On December 20, 2024, the airline group revealed that it is updating its fleet by replacing older Boeing 737-700s and 737-800s with more modern and fuel-efficient Airbus A320neo family aircraft.

The plan is to make Transavia’s fleet increasingly younger, quieter and more economical as net zero targets loom larger on the horizon.

The airline received its first Airbus aircraft in December 2023 and currently has 16 in operation across the group – seven A321neos with Transavia Holland and nine A320neos with Transavia France.
