Thousands of giant panda sculptures have been on display at Hong Kong International Airport (HKG).

The launch ceremony for PANDA GO! FEST HK exhibition took place on December 2, 2024. It featured 2,500 panda figures displayed at HAECO’s hangar at HKG Airport, adjacent to a Cathay Pacific aircraft.

The panda sculptures were created from recycled materials such as rubber barrels and resin. This exhibition is inspired by the six pandas that live in Ocean Park, an animal theme park in Hong Kong. Two of them were born in August 2024.

The event is the biggest panda-themed exhibition in Hong Kong, as the city is working to become one of Asia’s main tourist attractions.

The panda sculptures will be shown at the Avenue of Stars in Tsim Sha Tsui starting December 7, 2024, and then at three other locations in December 2024.

In September 2024, Cathay Pacific’s Boeing 747 freighter transported two giant pandas to their new home at Ocean Park.
