Delta Air Lines announced, on September 20, 2024, its 2025 Transatlantic summer schedule, which will be its largest ever and include a number of new routes between the US and Europe.
In particular, the US carrier will be adding new nonstop services from Boston-Logan (BOS) to Barcelona (BCN), thrice weekly, and four times per week to Milan Malpensa (MXP).
Italy, in fact, features prominently in this expanded flight schedule. Delta will start, in May 2025, its first ever flights between New York-JFK and Catania (CTA), in the island of Sicily. This flight will be operated daily by Boeing 767-300ER aircraft.
Delta is also launching a four-weekly nonstop service linking Atlanta (ATL) to Naples (NAP).
Rome-Fiumicino (FCO), in turn, will get a new four-weekly service from Minneapolis-Saint Paul (MSP), and additional frequencies (from 14 to 17 weekly) from the airline’s Atlanta (ATL) hub.
A four-weekly Detroit (DTW) to Dublin (DUB) and a thrice-weekly Atlanta to Brussels (BRU) services are also among the new routes.
This network expansion will be accompanied by the addition of more frequencies on key European routes.
Atlanta to Barcelona will go from daily to 10 times per week, Atlanta to Athens (ATH) from daily to 11 flights per week and Atlantia to Zurich (ZRH) will be upgraded to daily, as will also the Detroit to Munich (MUC) route.
